Franken Really is Good Enough

After two months of recounts, court-ordered purges and excessive whining, Al Franken has been told he's good enough.

"A state election board on Monday will announce Democrat Al Franken has defeated Republican incumbent Norm Coleman in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race, state officials told CNN Sunday. The canvassing board on Monday will say a recount determined Franken won by 225 votes, Secretary of State Mark Ritchie told CNN."

Of couse Coleman, the man who said in November that he would have conceded if he were Franken, is going to try something to get rid of some Franken voters.
"However, Coleman's campaign, which contends the recount should have included about 650 absentee ballots it says were improperly rejected in the initial count, has indicated it will challenge the certification."

It's over, but I already knew that in the early nineties. And gosh darn it, Stuart Smalley knew too.

2008 Election Fraud Watch

Lose your house, lose your vote.

“We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week. He said the local party wanted to make sure that proper electoral procedures were followed."

Hope about: Destroy the economy, steal your vote.

Sarah "No Press" Palin

It's easy to keep lying when no one is allowed to ask you questions.

"More than 40 million people tuned in last week to listen to the speech from Palin, the 44-year-old, first-term governor whom McCain announced as his surprise vice presidential pick just days before. Since then, that basic script is all anyone has heard from her publicly, and her only interaction with the media was a brief conversation with a small group of reporters on her plane Monday _ off the record at her handlers' insistence.

Associated Press reporters were not on the plane, but an aide told the journalists on board that all Palin flights would be off the record unless the media were told otherwise. At least one reporter objected. Two people on the flight said the Palins greeted the media and they chatted about who had been to Alaska, but little else was said."

Lowering expectations in their game. If no one hears from her until the debate and then she says something that makes sense, they will call it a home run. McCain campaign manager Rick Davis says that Palin will "agree to an interview when we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it."

What bullshit. People should be up-in-arms.

The Real Ground Game

The Slate's Richard Hansen gives us a little update on all the legal battles going on in some crucial states of voting issues. It's a good read.

The 2008 election may well be determined by some of the legal and election administration skirmishes going on now in several key states.

Maybe I need to take a week off of work rather than just November 5th (which is the 4th for the US).

2000, 2004 and 2008 Election Fraud...

There is one thing we should know with complete certainty - the Republicans will definitely try to steal this election. It’s how they play the game, it’s what they’re good at, they’ve gotten away with it twice - they don’t know any better. The only real questions are: have we found the courage to stand up to them, and can we stop them?

We have not shown that we are capable of standing up to them. Just look at Pelosi and Reid, and all the other paper tigers we have up on Capital hill just capitulating their little asses off. Doesn’t exactly inspire one with confidence.

Furthermore, we have not done our due diligence in assuring the integrity of our electoral system and the mechanisms the Republicans used to steal 2000 and 2004 remain firmly in place in many parts of the country.

From Truthout.org

"With record low approval ratings for the Bush/Cheney regime and the albatross of an unpopular war hanging from the GOP's neck, do you think that a Democratic presidential candidate will win the White House, get us out of Iraq, and end our long national nightmare?

Think again - the mighty election theft machine Karl Rove used to steal the US presidency in 2000 and 2004 may be under attack, but it is still in place for the upcoming 2008 election.

With his usual devious mastery, Rove has seized upon the national outrage sparked by his electoral larceny and used it as smokescreen while he makes the American electoral system even MORE unfair, and even EASIER to rig. Thus the administration has fired federal attorneys when they would not participate in a nationwide campaign to deny minorities and the poor their access to the polls. It has spent millions of taxpayer dollars to install electronic voting machines that can be "flipped" with a few keystrokes. And under the guise of "reforming" our busted electoral system, it is setting us up for another presidential theft in 2008."

I did my senior thesis on the 2000 Election and there are some serious issues out there that we must deal with. Greg Palast is the authority on this issue and has exhaustively investigated this very real problem.

And what machines do many US states use?

If you want to read the facts, checks this article out.

And this makes everyone feel great.

And of course you remember the exit poll problems of 2004?

Don't be surprised and don't buy into the GOP "stop whining" narrative.
