Happy Valentines Day!

I hope everyone has a nice Valentines Day! 고 and I will go to dinner and drinks to celebrate the day! The day is not as special here in Korea though. Let me make this clear though: I don't think this day is very special anywhere. However, Korea has managed to make even less special because they have TONS of these days. Every holiday except for Lunar New Years and Chuseok are pandering towards romance. There is White Day, Valentines Day, Peppero Day, Black Day, 100th Day and even Christmas Day and all of these days are geared towards lovers, therefore, sale of silly and loving gifts.

Korea is a very "cute" society. They love the image of innocence and playfulness. The women try very hard to maintain this cute image and the men eat it up. Take this for instance.

Could there be anything cuter than this? A couple with matching animal hats (which I had when I was 8) and the girl is sporting the oversized lollipop. That hats are quite popular actually.
And then we see this on TV...

You like the hand hearts, lollipops, polka-dots and over-sized chairs? Korea does. And the lyrics couldn't be better.

So, Happy Valentines Day from "cute" Korea.
